Session Timer FAQ

General Questions

What is the Daily Session Timer?

Customizing your games is free, with a daily time allowance of two hours. The Daily Session Timer tracks that allowance. It applies to all free accounts, covers only mods, and resets at 12:00am in your local time zone. Maps, video highlights, Game Guide, and other features stay completely free. Wand Pro removes the timer entirely.

I didn't have a session timer before. Why do I have one now?

The Daily Session Timer took effect in February 2026 for new accounts and on May 1st, 2026 for all free accounts. Your two hours reset at midnight local time each day.

Why are you doing this?

Creators you know like FLiNG, MrAntiFun, and many others are paid members of the Wand team, building, testing, and updating mods across thousands of games. This change allows us to keep supporting them and continue investing in the platform as a whole for years to come.

Didn't you remove the Daily Session Timer before? Why bring it back?

We've determined that this model is the best way to sustain the platform and keep improving the things you care about most. We're continuing to invest in faster mod updates, more games supported, and new features for both free and Pro users.

How It Works

How does the Daily Session Timer work?

The Daily Session Timer applies only to mods. The timer starts when you hit Play in the Wand app, regardless of whether mods are on. It doesn't count time spent browsing the app, using maps, or watching clips. Live location is the exception: it counts toward your time, since it needs an active session to work. Your time resets at midnight local time each day.

When does my time reset?

Your time resets at midnight local time.

What happens when I hit 2 hours?

You'll get a warning before the timer expires so you can wrap up what you're doing. When your session has reached two hours, mods will turn off and you can see when your time resets. You can continue using all the free features like maps and video clips in the meantime.

Does the Daily Session Timer apply to maps, video, and other features?

No. The Daily Session Timer only applies to mods. Maps, video highlights, Game Guide, overlay access, and app browsing are all completely free. The one exception is live location, which works through an active session and counts toward your time.

Can I see how much time I have left?

Yes. There's a timer visible in the app showing how much time you have left. You'll also get a notification when you're running low so you can wrap up your session or decide to upgrade.

Does the timer carry over if I switch games?

Switching games doesn't reset the timer. Your 2 hours covers mod use across any games you play in a day.

What happens if I close my game while mods are still enabled?

Closing your game ends the session and turns your mods off automatically, the same as if you had disabled them manually before quitting.

What if I pause my game and go AFK with mods still on?

The timer keeps running as long as you're in an active session, even if you're not at your keyboard. To stop the timer, you'll need to close the game entirely or launch the game without mods. Toggling mods off won't stop it once you've hit Play.
