Monthly Update - August 2026

In August, Compass expanded from a single game to every game with Live Location tracking. The home screen started refreshing its Popular Highlights daily with new community clips, and the Cyberpunk 2077 map picked up a heatmap of where the action tends to happen across Night City. And the library kept growing, with 65 new games, mods updated for 218 more, and 35 new maps on Wand Maps.

This Month's Highlights

  • Compass now works in every game with Live Location. When Compass launched last month it only worked in Palworld. Now, it works in every game with Live Location tracking. Pick a pin, toggle Compass on, and a small compass in the corner of your screen points you there, tightening into a precise mark as you get close. You can also start it before you're even in-game: mark a pin from the web, the desktop app, or the mobile app, and it carries into your session. It's the middle ground between exploring blind and skipping the trip with Teleport.
  • A home screen that keeps up with the community. The Popular Highlights on your home screen now refresh daily, pulling from a rotating set of standout clips other players have captured, so there's something new to watch each time you open the app. We have more updates coming soon for those clips and where they show up in the app.
  • A heatmap of the action in Cyberpunk 2077. Our new heatmap feature rolled out to the Cyberpunk 2077 map. You can now toggle a heatmap that shows where players' recorded kills and deaths cluster across Night City, so you can see at a glance where things tend to happen and watch the clips to see the exact spot.

Improvements & Fixes

Here's what else shipped this month.

Improvements

  • Auto Highlights now has its own section in Settings, with a single switch to turn the feature on or off across all supported games
  • You can now choose a custom folder for where your saved clips are stored, instead of the default location
  • The Popular Highlights on the videos page load from a thumbnail first, so the page opens faster and only plays a clip when you hover it
  • Your video library loads faster and pulls more clips at once, so the page fills in sooner instead of in small batches
  • Upcoming games now show which mods are on the way before launch day

Bug Fixes

  • Amazon Pay now completes at checkout again, after a signing issue that was blocking it
  • Fixed a black screen some players hit when launching the app right after the early-August update
  • The games list on wand.com loads correctly again on longer lists
  • Checklists on maps render correctly again
  • Fixed a case where a title could briefly drop out of the game list
  • Fixed an error that could appear around pinned mods
  • Maps in the app banner now show in a consistent order
