Wand's interactive maps are built to enhance your in-game exploration by providing a dynamic, visual guide with useful overlays, real-time location tracking (for supported games), and powerful customization tools.
Features & benefits
Live Game World View: See detailed world maps overlaid with categorized pins marking collectibles, quests, secrets, and more helping you uncover everything the game offers.
Live Location (supported games): Your current location appears live on the map, reducing the need for in-game navigation and letting you explore more efficiently.
Teleport (supported games): jump straight to a pin from the map on titles with teleport support, use the Teleport only filter to see where you can go. More in the Teleport article.

Custom Pins: Add your own pins with names, descriptions, and colors, perfect for tracking rare items, areas to revisit, or personal objectives.
Progress Tracking: Mark pins as "Found" to fade or check them off, and watch your overall completion with a Discovery Progress counter at the top of the map (for example, 4 / 1370). Filter to hide found items and focus on what's left.
100% Checklists: track your way to full completion with a checklist, shown in the map panel as soon as you open Maps.
Your Timeline: review your past play sessions and what you accomplished in each, right in the map panel when you open Maps.
Video Pins (supported games): Highlights you capture can appear as pins where you recorded them, so you can jump straight back to the moment. Requires cloud backup, and supported on games with Live Location and a single map, see Enable Highlight Map Pins in the Highlights article.
Fog of War (supported games): reveal the map as you explore instead of seeing everything at once, pins stay hidden until you discover them in-game. Turn it on from the Layers button; see Fog of War below.
Powerful Search & Filtering: Search for any location or objective by keyword, and toggle specific pin categories to declutter your view.
Zoom & Navigation: Easily pan across the map and zoom in or out to focus on specific regions or pin clusters.
Elements on Maps
Maps typically include:
Collectibles: Hidden items, documents, and artifacts
Resources: Crafting materials and upgrade components
Enemies: Boss locations and enemy camps
Travel Points: Teleport spots and checkpoints
Quest Locations: NPCs and mission objectives
Secrets: Easter eggs and unlockables
Achievements: Areas related to trophies or in-game goals
Each pin includes a name and often a brief description or image.
In-game and out-of-game access
In-game: Open the Wand overlay (default: Alt + W) and access the map directly during gameplay.
Outside the game: Use the map before or after your session to plan, track missed items, or review progress.
On the web: browse and open maps at Wand.com > Game Maps, no app needed.
On your phone (Wand Remote app): view your maps from your phone or tablet. Map access on the Remote app is available to everyone — free and Pro. Pro members can also use the Remote app to enable and disable mods and use Game Guide.
Custom pins
Open the map in Wand app game page
Click the “Add Custom Pin” button
Add a name, description, and select pin colour.
Custom pins appear in a separate category and are synced to your account.
You can edit or delete your pins anytime.
Use cases include marking rare items, quest areas, or spots to revisit later.
Marking pins as found
Click a pin and select “Mark Found”.
Found pins update visually (faded or checked).
Use filters to hide collected pins and focus on what's left.
Progress is saved to your account and synced across devices.
Note: This does not sync with your game's native tracking system.
Toggling the map during gameplay
Use the overlay hotkey (Alt+W) to open or close the map.
Click the map icon in the overlay to hide/minimize.
Some games may have a dedicated map hotkey.
Ensure overlay is enabled in Wand settings for in-game use.
Customizing map view
Toggle pin categories on or off from the Legend panel.
Click a group name to show or hide all pins under it at once.
Use the quick filters at the top of the panel >Hide all, Teleport only, and Unfound only< to cut through clutter fast.
Search for specific pins using keywords.
Adjust map zoom, position, and pin density for better clarity.
Use the Layers button to switch the view and toggle overlays, see Map layers below.
Map layers
Click the Layers button on the map to change how it's displayed:
2D / 3D — switch between a flat, top-down view and a 3D view
Labels — show or hide place-name labels
Regions — show or hide region outlines
Fog of War (beta) — reveal the map as you explore (see below)
Fog of War (beta)
Available on maps that support Live Location. Open a Live Location map, click the Layers button, and turn on Fog of War.
With it off, the map shows all pins (or the ones matching your filters).
With it on, every pin stays hidden until you're in-game. As you explore, nearby pins reveal themselves, and once you've discovered a pin, it stays on the map for good.
It's a spoiler-free way to play: you uncover the world as you go instead of seeing everything at once.
Compass
On maps with Live Location, you can head to a spot without keeping the full map open. Select a pin, then choose Track location with compass, a compass appears in the top-left corner of your screen and points the way to that pin as you play, so you can follow it in-game without checking the map every few steps.
Limitations
Not All Games Supported: Map features are prioritized for complex, open-world titles.
No In-Game Integration: Marking items as collected in Wand won't reflect inside the game itself.
Troubleshooting
Position not showing:
Ensure the game supports position tracking.
Progress past the intro sequence.
Restart Wand and the game.
Map is laggy or unresponsive:
Hide unnecessary pins.
Lower map quality (if available).
Close other programs or update your graphics drivers.
Map isn't loading:
Check if the game supports maps (look for the map tab or icon).
Ensure Wand is properly connected.
Use the correct access point (overlay or Wand app).
For browser version, clear cache and reload.
How do I enable or disable nearby pin notifications?
To enable or disable nearby pin notifications:
Open the Wand Overlay during gameplay (default hotkey: Alt + W)
Click Settings in the bottom-right corner
Toggle Nearby pin notifications on or off
